Bridges are a way to replace a missing tooth or teeth without the need for an implant. Bridges are false teeth anchored in place by neighbouring teeth. The bridge consists of one or two crowns with a false tooth/tooth next to, or at its centre.
A prosthodontist may recommend a bridge as a treatment option to:
- Replace one or more missing teeth.
- Fill gaps caused by missing teeth and
- Prevent remaining teeth from moving into empty spaces.
